Gratitude Game
It's a special time of the year where giving thanks and showing gratitude for blessings in life are front and center.
Many families have traditions of going around the table at Thanksgiving dinner and verbalizing what they appreciate. This game brings a little extra fun to a time-honored tradition or may simply be used as a helpful tool to increase your practice of gratitude.
According to Shawn Achor, author of the book The Happiness Advantage, "Studies have shown that consistently grateful people are more energetic, emotionally intelligent, forgiving, and less likely to be depressed, anxious, or lonely". |
Play the Gratitude Game at Thanksgiving time or any time.
Directions: 1. Give a gratitude card to each person. 2. Set a timer for one minute (or more). 3. Write as many things as you can that you are grateful for until time runs out. *Note: Consider laminating the cards for years of reuse. Supply dry erase markers as writing implements for this option. |
