Peppermint |
Ingredients2 & 1/2 cups water
2 & 1/2 cups flour 1 & 1/4 cup salt 1 & 1/2 Tbsp cream of tartar 5 Tbsp vegetable oil food coloring Directions Mix water, salt, cream of tartar and red food coloring. Stir while cooking on low. Add oil and flour and continue to stir until dough pulls away from pan and doesn't stick. Dump on clean counter. Let cool, then knead. Make another batch and omit food coloring for white. Roll a piece of each color into a rope like shape and "braid" into a peppermint twist! Store in plastic container with lid or a freezer bag. |
Package it!
Place braided twists in a small container like the ones below (purchased at Michael's Craft Stores for $2.99 each). Or put them in ziploc bags (like the ones shown above - from the dollar store). The small monogram letters were 97 cents a piece at Michael's Craft store. Tie some irridescent ribbon to the top and adorn the containers with the first letter of the name of the recipient. I did one for each of my nephews and my niece.
