Healthy Shamrock Shake
Did you love the “Shamrock Shake” as a kid? I sure did. But now that I’m a parent and know what’s in it, I make my own healthy version of this recipe at home.
1 large banana
handful of kale
half an avocado
3 Tbsp. honey, pure maple syrup, or agave
4 to 6 drops peppermint essential oil
(or peppermint extract. I use DoTerra peppermint oil)
2 cups milk (rice or almond ), or water
Blend on high for 30 seconds & Serve. Makes 1 large serving.
(Add more or less sweetener or peppermint flavor to suit your taste. You can also use frozen bananas or blend in a handful of ice to make it colder.)
The McDonald’s version contains 54 ingredients, 115 grams of sugar, artificial dyes, and artificial flavorings linked to gastrointestinal problems, headaches, and hyperactivity in children.
