The human mind is much like a farmer's land. The land gives the farmer a choice. He may plant in that land whatever he chooses. The land doesn't care what is planted. It's up to the farmer to make the decision. The mind, like the land, will return what you plant... Success or failure. A concrete, worthwhile goal or confusion, misunderstanding, fear, anxiety, and so on. What we plant must return to us.... As it's written in the Bible, "As ye sow, so shall ye reap." |
Are you Watering Flowers or Watering Weeds?
Do you know a person who always seems to be brimming with joy? How about another person who is like a heavy, dark cloud? The difference between the two largely depends on the thoughts they each cultivate. Thoughts become words and actions, so take care to cultivate good ones! Though it's often easier said than done, there are practices we can put into place to help us cultivate more peace and joy. Visualization is one such technique. If you are having trouble letting go of a heavy or burdensome thought, visualize placing it inside a balloon and releasing it. Journaling is another proven technique. Be on the lookout for things to be grateful for each day, and record them in a journal each night. | Bulldoze Those Thought Weeds! |
